Heritage Paint Out Shoot Out 2014

Description:

This is on the following day of the Qualicum Beach Grand Prix d’ Art, one can get two competitions on this Island in two days then go home with the money!

An artistic race against time to bring Heritage to life. A new date and double the prize money this year!

Painters and photographers meet at the Nanaimo Museum at 10:00 am where they draw randomly for a Heritage building location supplied by the City. You then spend the day painting and photographing your selected building, returning to the Museum at 3:00 pm with a presentation ready piece where the work is judged to receive cash prizes totally $1,000.

Works from this year’s contest will be exhibited in the Nanaimo Museum for the month of August and as part of a Heritage Paint Out Shoot Out (HPOSO) Retrospective in the Nanaimo Arts Council Gallery in September.

The HPOSO has been running since 1999 in various incarnations and past entrants are invited to exhibit their work as part of a retrospective celebrating the historic architecture of Nanaimo.
