Paint on the Mountain: 2024 Call for Artists

Paint on the Mountain is back for its ninth consecutive year! British Pacific Properties is pleased to be hosting our annual Paint on the Mountain plein air competition this July 30 & 31st, 2024. The Call for Artists opens May 6th and closes June 3rd, 2024.

Application Due Date: On or before June 3^rd, 2024

Location: Hollyburn Mountain (by Cypress Pop-Up Village)

Costs: No Cost for Entry or Participation

Competition Dates: Tuesday, July 30th to Wednesday, July 31st, 2024

British Pacific Properties is pleased to be hosting our annual Paint on the Mountain Plein Air competition for its ninth consecutive year and is calling on artists to participate in this year’s competition running from Tuesday, July 30th to Wednesday, July 31st, 2024.

Paint on the Mountain is British Pacific Properties’ annual Plein Air Painting Competition and Exhibition in association with West Vancouver’s Harmony Arts Festival. The Call for Artists opens May 6th and closes June 3rd. From all entries, twelve (12) successful artists will be selected by a Jury to participate in painting nature and viewscapes en plein air on the serene mountainside of Hollyburn Mountain (by Cypress Pop-Up Village). Jurors will award three cash prizes totaling $2,500, artists will have the opportunity to win $1,500 for the Grand Prize*, cash prizes for second and third, and an additional prize awarded to The People’s Choice.

Requirements for the Call:

• Artists must submit two plein air pieces completed in the last 12 months, submitted at a minimum resolution of 72 DPI;
• All artwork submitted must be unsigned by the artist;
• The artists must include a CV;
• There is no entry fee to participate in the challenge this year; and
• Artists must submit their interest and artwork digitally to info@cypressvillage.com.

The twelve successful artists will be announced on June 7th, 2024.

*Note: The Grand Prize winner from the previous year must wait one year before competing in Paint on the Mountain again. However, the Grand Prize winner may join as a Juror in the following year’s competition.
